2009 AAPA Port Operations, Safety and Information Technology Seminar

Sponsored by AAPA's Operations, Information Technology and Safety Committees, this two and a half day seminar will focus on the integration and cooperation required today among these three disciplines. Meeting the challenges of increasing trade volumes and heightened security requirements without compromising efficiency and safety requires a team approach. This seminar will give insights from all players in the supply chain, including ocean, rail and motor carriers, regarding operational productivity, velocity and efficiency at seaports. Other topics may include security integration and the rollout of the Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC), advancements in safe navigation and vessel traffic management, terminal operating systems and yard productivity software, traffic safety and other safety management programs, customs automation, OSHA safety-related requirements and issues, electronic data interchange, and federal legislation and regulations that affect port operations, technology, and safety.
