Special cargoes – special needs! This seminar is designed for economic development and operations professionals at shallow draft and general cargo ports that handle bulk, breakbulk and other special cargoes as well as containers. The focus of the seminar is on short sea shipping opportunities and challenges and trends and issues specific to operating these port facilities. Topics will include an overview and outlook for bulk and breakbulk markets, instruction on how to implement new security regulations and policies, how to plan for survival in today’s economy, and a review current environmental issues.
